I would suggest testing the hard drive. Here is a link that shows how to test the drive.

 

If all the test pass then you will most likely need recovery discs for the computer.

What can I do to correct this problem ? I do not know a lot about computer tech. I am very new at using a computer,I have college work stored on documents and CAN NOT loose them how  or can I save them on to a usb stick.
