@SudhiK, Welcome to HP Support Community.
Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.
If your HP ENVY Photo 7855 All-in-One Printer is displaying a Cartridge Problem error after installing a new cartridge, try these troubleshooting steps:
Check Cartridge Compatibility
- Ensure you are using genuine HP cartridges that are compatible with the HP ENVY Photo 7855.
- If enrolled in HP Instant Ink, make sure you are using Instant Ink cartridges, as standard cartridges may not work while enrolled.
Reinsert the Cartridges
- With the printer powered on, remove the cartridges.
- Inspect the cartridges for protective tape (remove it if present) and ensure no visible damage.
- Reinstall them securely and close the cartridge door.
Clean Cartridge & Printer Contacts
- Power off the printer and unplug it.
- Remove the cartridges and gently clean the copper contacts with a lint-free cloth lightly dampened with distilled water.
- Let them dry for a few seconds before reinserting.
- Plug the printer back in and power it on.
4. Reset the Printer
- With the printer powered on, unplug the power cord from both the printer and the wall outlet.
- Wait 60 seconds.
- Reconnect the power cord and turn the printer on.
Update Printer Firmware
- Go to HP Support (HP Software & Driver Downloads) and download the latest firmware for your HP ENVY Photo 7855.
- Follow on-screen instructions to update.
Check HP Instant Ink Status (if enrolled)
- Sign in to HP Instant Ink and check for any alerts related to your cartridges.
- If the cartridge is defective, contact HP Support for a replacement.
Try Another Cartridge
- If you have an old or spare cartridge, try inserting it. If it works, the new cartridge may be faulty.
I hope this helps.
Take care and have a good day.
