Blue ink refused to print despite the fact that it was a relatively new cartridge. Used Print and Scan Doctor and cleaned multiple times. No change. Installed a new blue cartridge. Any color printed using blue ink prints with striations (horizontal lines). Used Print and Scan Doctor and cleaned multiple times. No change. Contacted HP Customer Service. They said they were having trouble with cartridges sourced from - China?
They sent me a replacement cartridge. Installed. SAME PROBLEM. This printer is only a year and a half old.

Same problem with 4 year old Officejet Pro 6968. Solved same problem about 2 years ago by spraying with air duster on cyan intake port. Worked for 2 more years, now same problem. Now air duster doesn't help. The more I used the clean head program the less blue I got. Hammer4

I've done everything I can think of to get HP OfficeJet Pro 6978 to print blue. Had printer for a little over 1 year; then this problem. Cleaned the print heads, put in new blue cartridges. Several people have this problem but NO Help from HP. Used HP printers for years with no problems. This will be my last HP Printer

I am afraid this did not help. When I run the test reports the blue box does not show up at all. I wouldn’t mind if the box was somewhat blurry or not the best print quality. However to have nothing but white space where the blue box should be shows that there is a more serious issue. This printer is garbage!!
