Please help - I have tried every "fix" related to powering on/off the printer - I have installed GENUINE HP cartridges and still get the incompatible message on the screen - this is beyond frustrating - I use the exact cartridge this model calls for and in the middle of printing, get the incompatible error message - 

 

Ready to return this printer for good - it has had multiple issues since purchase - now on my second one - first one never worked.

Don't worry as I'll be glad to help, to provide an accurate resolution, I need a few more details:

  • Is your printer enrolled in the Instant Ink plan?

While you respond to that, let's try these steps: Ink cartridge errors and the issue persists, it could be a hardware failure.

I am having the same trouble except that I have the Envy 7645. I have tried everything listed and am still getting the incompatible cartridges error. My printer is NOT enrolled in the Instant Ink plan. Are you able to help me fix my printer?

 

I just did one of the help options and it sort of worked. I removed the black ink cartridge and had the printer print in single cartridge mode. After removing that cartridge, the error code went away. So I printed a test page. It sounded like it was printing and the paper was pulled through correctly. But the page is completely blank. Not sure what to think about that.

Try updating the printer firmware:

  • Click here to download and install the latest printer firmware from your PC.
