I have a HP OfficeJet Pro 9010 all in one machine.  I hadn't used it in a while, but it is virtually brand new.  I got new print cartridges for it and now it prints out blank pages or only parts of pages.  I have done all of the diagnostics and test pages, along with cleaning of the printer heads.  What else can I do?

If you soak the old cartridges in warm water for a few minute possible the ink will start working.  The bigger problem is the electrical contacts.  Some advice is here for how to put the printer into storage.

Official (HP) advice on printhead cleaning is here.
This link gives advice on cleaning the 8600 printhead and removal is described here.
This is another type of printhead cleaning, different from the above.

Cleaning and removing ink from the print head is shown below by our "Scullery" team.

An HP original video on how to clean the printheads by our experts. Yes, this can get messy, but it works. If your ink levels are good but you are printing blank pages then this is likely the solution.

Some printers have a printhead cleaning procedure.

To clean the printhead on an HP printer, access the printer settings through the HP Smart app, navigate to "Print Quality Tools," and select "Clean Printhead"; this will initiate a cleaning cycle where the printer will automatically run a cleaning process to clear any clogs in the printhead

Inkjet and printhead cleaning kits are available

This video shows how to remove a printhead

Consumer inkjet printer printheads typically last for several years, with some lasting up to 10 years or even longer. However, the lifespan can vary greatly depending on usage, maintenance, and environmental factors.

Hi BeemerBiker:

Thank you for your detailed information and I will try your suggestions.  It almost seems like the printer cartridge(s) need to be primed.  Like I said I have done multiple test pages either through Settings/Control Panel on my computer and also on the printer itself.  I also am going to take the print cartridge assembly out and soak the assembly for a few hours.  Fingers-crossed that this will work.  On another note, could the new print cartridges be defective?  I am using HP printer cartridges, but in your experience how many times have your purchased HP products and they have been defective?  In the meantime, stay tuned, let's see how the soaking for the print assembly goes.
