@Nancy1980, Welcome to the HP Support Community!

Thanks for reaching out about your query regarding E0 Error on HP Printer!

We're thrilled to have the opportunity to assist you and provide a solution.

If you encounter an E0 error after installing new ink cartridges in your HP ENVY 6000 or 6400 printer, follow these steps to resolve the issue:

Remove and Reseat the Ink Cartridges

  1. Lift the ink cartridge access door until it locks into place.
  2. Wait until the carriage is idle and silent.
  3. Remove the cartridges carefully without touching the copper-colored contacts or ink nozzles.
  4. Lower the ink cartridge access door.
  5. Press the Power button at the rear of the printer to turn the printer off.
  6. Wait for 12 minutes before pressing the Power button to turn the printer on again.
  7. Wait until the carriage is idle and silent, displaying an E0 error on the control panel.
  8. Lift the ink cartridge access door again.
  9. Reseat the ink cartridges snugly in the cartridges slots.
  10. Lower the ink cartridge access door again.

Reset the Printer

  1. Open Embedded Web Server (EWS). For instructions on accessing EWS
  2. On the EWS page, navigate to Settings > Restore Defaults > Restore Factory Defaults.
  3. Wait for the printer to restart, entering Wi-Fi setup mode (front light pulses purple).
  4. Open the HP Smart app, right-click or long press the printer name, then select Hide Printer.
  5. Click Add Printer or the plus sign and complete the setup in HP Smart.
  6. Try printing a test page to verify the issue is resolved.

Hope this helps!

Take care, and have an amazing day!
