I'm on the Instant Ink moderate plan. In February I got a notice that a shipment of ink was on the way. It arrived just fine and I put it in a safe place. Now the yellow cartridge is empty, so I figured I'd replace all 4, C M Y K. But there's only C M Y in the box, no black cartridge! What? WHAT? Anyone else experience this? If I contact support will they send me just the black, or a whole box of 4? 😖

Instant Ink is basically a monthly subscription-based service from HP where you pay a fee each month for the number of pages you print, and HP will deliver new ink cartridges when your printer is about to run low, replacements will be sent accordingly you will not receive one set of ink cartridges in every shipment.

 

 

Please send us a private message with your Instant Ink account details or you may also respond to the private message I've sent out and I'll help you out, accordingly. Check next to your profile name, you should see a little blue envelope, please click on it.

With the help of @Jay_G24, I received the black cartridge I needed. But for some reason Instant Ink also shipped me a whole other set of 4 cartridges! I will not need them for at least 1 year, maybe 2. I'll keep them safe till then, but I hope they'll still be good.

 

Meanwhile, after I installed the 3 cartridges I got in February, I got an email from HP saying I had "recently installed one or more store-bought cartridges." And later I got 2 other emails saying "We noticed that one or more of the ink in your printer are ready to be replaced. Our records show you have replacement Instant Ink on hand from a previous shipment, so we wanted to check in and see if we can help." So it seems that the Instant Ink system cannot reliably tell when you've put in the cartridges they send you. The whole thing seems to be fairly dysfunctional.

I am on the monthly plan and I have completely ran out of black ink. Maybe I have used more than usual since I have been working a lot from my home office. I don't feel that HP Ink has been monitoring my usage and if I need to increase the amount of pages that I use in a certain period of time, I need to know. I don't like the fact that I can't do anything at the present time because I cannot print a black and white page. Please let me know what my options are and send a black cartridge ASAP.
