Microsoft Windows 11

I have ran the cleaning several times. Yellow was working but has now stopped. Cyan hasn’t printed at all. All ink tanks are refilled with HP ink

Hi @Kellyeliz,

Thank you for your response,

If your HP Smart Tank Plus 651 printer's cyan and yellow ink have stopped printing despite running cleaning prints, you can try a few troubleshooting steps to resolve the issue.

  • Check Ink Levels: Ensure that the cyan and yellow ink tanks have sufficient ink. Low ink levels can cause printing issues.
  • Replace Ink Cartridges: If the ink levels are low or the cartridges are empty, replace the cyan and yellow ink cartridges with new, genuine HP cartridges.
  • Nozzle Check: Perform a nozzle check to identify if there are any clogs or issues with the printhead. You can usually find this option in the printer's software or settings menu. Follow the instructions provided in your printer's manual.
  • Manual Cleaning: a. Turn off the printer and unplug it from the power source. b. Open the printer cover to access the printhead. c. Gently wipe the printhead with a lint-free cloth or a cotton swab moistened with distilled water. Do not use tap water or alcohol. d. Allow it to dry completely before turning the printer back on and printing a test page.
  • Alignment and Calibration: After cleaning the printhead, it's a good idea to perform a printhead alignment and calibration to ensure that the nozzles are properly aligned.
  • Update Printer Driver: Ensure that you have the latest printer driver installed. You can download the latest driver from the HP website or use the software that came with your printer to check for updates.
  • Software Troubleshooting: Check the printer software for any error messages or alerts that may provide information about the issue. Sometimes, the software can diagnose and recommend solutions.

I have done all this except a nozzle check I guess. I can’t find directions on how to do this.
