HP ENVY Photo 6220 All-in-One Printer

I haven't use the printer for some time, and now photos or have visible streaks or missing colours. I’ve run “cleaning cartridges” couple times, and print Quality diagnostic looks perfect, the ink levels are ok. What else could be cleaner?

@Veslava, Welcome to the HP Support Community!

Thanks for reaching out about your query regarding the print quality issues!

We're thrilled to have the opportunity to assist you and provide a solution.

Since you've already performed printhead cleaning and the Print Quality Diagnostic report looks perfect, but photos still have streaks or missing colors, here are some additional steps you can try:

Use High-Quality Photo Paper

Ensure you are using HP-recommended photo paper and that it is not damp or curled.

Check Paper Type Settings

Make sure the printer settings match the type of paper you are using:

Open Printer Preferences on your PC.

Go to Paper/Quality or Media Type settings.

Select the correct photo paper type (e.g., glossy, matte, etc.).

Try a Different Printing Mode

In print settings, increase the print quality:

Change from Normal to Best quality mode.

Perform a Second-Level Printhead Cleaning

Some HP printers have an advanced or second-level cleaning option in Tools > Printer Maintenance. Run it if available.

Manually Clean the Printhead

If automatic cleaning didn’t work, manually clean the printhead:

Remove the ink cartridges.

Use a lint-free cloth slightly dampened with distilled water to gently wipe the nozzles.

Let it dry for a few minutes before reinserting.

Align the Printhead

Even if your diagnostic page looks fine, try Align Printhead under Printer Settings > Tools.

Print a Test Photo from Another Source

If streaks persist, print a photo from a different device or file to rule out software issues.

Let me know if the issue still persists! 😊

Take care, and have an amazing day!
