HP Photosmart C4680
Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

I moved from Brazil to Germany and urgently need to reconfigure/redefine my HP Photosmart C4680 printer to work with the European HP300 ink cartridge (instead of HP60).

I have already bought the original HP300 cartridges and no longer have any old type 60 cartridges.

My printer is showing "incompatible cartridge" on the display and I can't print any page.

=> How do I reset the printer to accept the HP300 cartridge?

Thanks!

Igor.

@IgorC, Welcome to the HP Support Community!

Unfortunately, this model printer cannot be region reset as there is no printer software available. The HP solution center will not work.

Due to the age of the printer, the support options are limited.

I suggest you upgrade the printer. You may visit Hp Store to check the available printers.

Keep me posted for any other assistance.

Thanks for your reply, @Kumar0307!

Well...I spent about 40 euros to buy new original HP cartridges that don't work and now the only solution you give me is basically to throw away my printer and buy a new one? 😲

I'm sorry but I can't believe and/or accept that does not have a solution. Apart from disrespecting customers, it's also completely harmful to the environment to dispose of a printer that "worked" perfectly. This regional lock implemented by HP makes no sense at all! :Surprise:

If there really isn't a solution, I promise to myself (and to my entire company) that I will never ever buy a product from HP again! 😞
