Operating System: macOS 12.0 Monterey

If all the other recommendations didn't work try what I did.  I removed the cartridge and used a medium soft tooth brush to clean the contacts inside the printer, not the ones on the cartridge.  I previously cleaned them with alcohol and compressed air but neither of those methods worked.  Only the tooth brush.  I was not aggressive, I just brushed the contacts for about twenty seconds.  And that worked.  Good Luck.

I replaced my black cartridge with a new HP cartridge and get the "not communicating" error.  I have tried various ways of cleaning all contacts--inclusive of the toothbrush option.  I have powered off and on etc but nothing works.  Still receiving the error.
