HP Officejet 4630

I have looked all over for a solution. My printer is an Officejet 4630. I needed black ink so I researched what ink it needed and I bought the 61 black in cartridge like it said to do. When I went to install it, it told me that it was not compatible. So I did ALL the troubleshooting that I found (taking out and putting it back in, resetting the printer multiple ways, cleaning the printer, etc.) It didn't work. I saw that it might need the firmware updated so that's what I wanted to try next, but my printer is literally stuck on the "Incompatible ink cartridge" error message even if I take the cartridge out. I have reset the printer a dozen times, but it won't go away and I can't connect my phone to the printer to update it because of that. How do I get rid of the error message?

@TessyG, Welcome to HP Support Community!

If you have already performed the steps from the document HP Printer Does not Print and Error Indicates Faulty Ink Cartridge and the issue persists, it could be a hardware failure.

Please reach out to HP Support in your region regarding the service options for your printer.

Hope this helps!
