Hi @kim314,
Welcome to HP Support Community.
Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.
If you are experiencing alignment issues with the cartridges in your HP Envy Inspire 7955e printer despite running the clean cartridges and alignment prompts multiple times, there could be several reasons for this problem. Here are some troubleshooting steps you can follow to address the issue.
- Check Cartridge Installation: Ensure that the cartridges are properly installed in their respective slots. Open the printer cover and carefully remove and reinsert both the color and black cartridges to make sure they are seated correctly.
- Use Genuine HP Cartridges: HP printers often work best with genuine HP cartridges. Make sure you are using authentic HP ink cartridges for your printer model.
- Inspect for Damaged Cartridges: Check the cartridges for any physical damage or leaks. If you notice any issues with the cartridges themselves, replace them with new ones.
- Update Printer Firmware: Outdated printer firmware can sometimes lead to alignment issues. Check if there are any firmware updates available for your HP Envy Inspire 7955e printer on the HP website and install them if needed.
- Clean the Cartridge Contacts: Turn off the printer and remove the cartridges. Clean the electrical contacts on both the cartridges and the corresponding contacts inside the printer using a lint-free cloth or cotton swab lightly moistened with distilled water. Allow them to dry before reinserting the cartridges.
- Perform a Hard Reset: Sometimes, a hard reset can resolve alignment problems. To do this, turn off the printer, unplug it from the power source, and leave it unplugged for a few minutes. Then, plug it back in and turn it on.
- Check for Paper Jams: Make sure there are no paper jams or obstructions inside the printer that could be affecting the alignment process.
- Calibrate Manually: If the automatic alignment process continues to fail, you can try calibrating the printer manually. Consult your printer's user manual or the HP website for instructions on how to perform manual alignment.
I hope this helps.
Take care and have a good day.
