We recently moved.  My HP Officejet 9015 was in storage for about a month.  I spoke with HP before moving, and they said to just remove the cartridges and place them in a ziploc bag, which I did.  After we moved in I reinstalled the cartridges (I have Instant Ink) and turned on the printer I get the error message "suply system problem".  I spoke with the HP support, who  then sent me new cartridges (actually not all, one still hasn't arrived).  However, when I put in the new cartridges I still get the same error.  Any suggestions?

Whoever told you to remove ink cartridges from that model of the printer was totally wrong because that action damaged your printhead. It's explained in the user manual that you should never turn OFF the printer without cartridges.

I'm not angry at you, just at HP.  It turns out that this was a software problem!  When I did a factory reset the printer revived.  This is yet another example of something that bugs me no end about badly designed programs.  Virtually all computer programs rely on saved data, but none of them seem to check that the data hasn't been corrupted.  Doing a factory reset is the equivalent of the oft repeated (and obnoxious) advice to reinstall software, etc.  This is a general failure of the software community.

Here's a followup.  After doing a factory reset and reconnecting to my wifi network I was able to print without problem.  However, when I went to the hp instant ink website it said that my printer was offline.  I ended up talking to an agent, who, quite frankly, didn't know what he was talking about.  He said that the problem was that I was connected to "5G" (which I eventually figure out meant 5Ghz, not the cellular protocol).  I had told him that I did a factory reset.  I eventually figured out on my own that I need to go to the ePrint icon on the control panel, and click Ok.  Really, shouldn't the HP agents have the correct information?
