I have installed on 2 computers the software for de Officejet 3830. On 1 computer I can set in default that is will print in color, but on de second computer I don't get this option. I have installed the latest software. What can I do?

But it is strange that the software from HP don't work with these defaukt settings.

There could be an issue with the network port. Assigning the TCP/IP port does not change the printer software. However, it just resolves the color printing issue.
