Product: Officejet 7310 all-in-one
Operating System: macOS 10.15 Catalina

After an OS upgrade to my MacBook Pro to the latest Catalina 10.15.7, everytime I try to print (either.pdf or Word), I get a failure with the message "Stopped - 'Filter' failed, 1 page

 

I tried a printer reset and also, when that didn't resolve it, I downloaded a new driver and installed it.   No resolution.   What am I missing ?   Would appreciate some help.  Thanks in advance.

I am having the exact same issue with my Photosmart C4200 series 2 printer. Is my printer toast!? There is no help on the HP website. Very frustrated right now.....

Same issue with Officejet 6400 series.  Have reinstalled driver, removed and added printer, restarted computer and printer.  Still just get:

'Filter' failed

and the error message:

One or more components of the HP printing software are corrupted or missing. The print job cannot be completed. To fix this situation, HP recommends reinstalling the print driver software.

 

But I've done that!  It didn't help!

Same! I have an MFP M127 and it wont print o either my catalina OS on desktop nor Mojave on laptop both MAC

Same problem!  Everything worked just fine until yesterday, 10-23-20.  I'm not an expert, so I hope someone can help me through this when a solution is found.  I have Mac Catalina on desktop, HP OfficeJet Pro 8720 printer.

Same issue with Deskjet F4580. This is only one thread of many in which users have been complaining of this issue over the past 24 hours. It's starting to feel like HP did something to get us all to buy new printers. Please prove me wrong HP and post the solution to what is clearly an HP software bug. Otherwise, if I have to buy a new printer I will be purchasing a Canon.
