I don't see any drivers for Windows 11, only for Windows 10. The Windows 10 driver does work for the printer, but I get this error when I try to update Windows, and it won't clear.

Hewlett-Packard - USB - 4/8/2019 12:00:00 AM - 1.0.0.237

Install error - 0x80070103

@Jimby3

In that case you’ll need to use Windows’ built-in drivers

The error 0x80070103 typically occurs when Windows tries to install a driver that is already present or incompatible.

Here’s how to resolve it and set up the built-in drivers:

Step 1: Remove the Existing Driver

  1. Open Device Manager (Win + X > Device Manager).
  2. Expand Printers or Universal Serial Bus controllers.
  3. Right-click on HP Color LaserJet Pro M252dw and select Uninstall device.
  4. Restart your computer.

Step 2: Install the Built-in Windows 11 Driver

  1. Open Settings > Devices > Printers & Scanners.
  2. Click Add a printer or scanner.
  3. If Windows doesn’t detect the printer, click The printer that I want isn’t listed.
  4. Select Add a local printer or network printer with manual settings.
  5. Choose USB001 (Virtual Printer Port for USB) or your printer’s network port.
  6. Click Windows Update to refresh the driver list.
  7. Select HP Color LaserJet Pro M252dw from the list and install.

Step 3: Resolve the Windows Update Error

  1. Open Windows Update Settings (Win + I > Update & Security).
  2. Click Advanced options > Optional updates.
  3. Locate the Hewlett-Packard - USB - 4/8/2019 12:00:00 AM - 1.0.0.237 update.
  4. Right-click and select Hide update (use the Show or Hide Updates tool).
  5. Restart your PC.

Step 4: Test the Printer

  • Print a test page from Control Panel > Devices and Printers.
  • If printing fails, try using HP’s Universal Print Driver from HP’s support site.

Let me know how it goes.

Thanks,
