OfficeJet 4650
Microsoft Windows 11

My HP OfficeJet 4650 has no option to print in color from my Windows 11 computer with the proper drivers installed. The option is simply nowhere to be found in the printing preferences or during a printing setup, and the printer always prints in black and white when printing from a computer regardless of whether it's connected through the wireless network or through a USB cable. The printer works perfectly with a stable connection either way, and it prints in color fine from its panel.

The same issue has been reported by others many times, none with a working solution. I have tried every step here without success.

Thank you for posting on the HP Support Community.

Don't worry as I'll be glad to help,

Let's try these steps to resolve the issue:

Download and run HP Print and Scan Doctor: Follow steps from the link: Click here If the issue persists, follow next steps.

Root level uninstall and reinstall printer drivers

  • Go to Control panel – Programs and feature – Select all the HP OfficeJet printer entries and uninstall them.
  • Now go to Control panel – Devices and printer – Select all the printer entries and remove the device.
  • Then press the "windows key" + "r" to get the "Run" window open - Type "printui.exe /s" and press enter.
  • Under print server properties, go to drivers - remove any entry there as well.
  • Again, go to run window, type – “c:/programdata” – Go to Hewlett Packard folder, remove any printer related folders & files.

To reinstall, click here. Also, you can try HP Easy Start Printer Setup Software

Hope this helps! Keep me posted for further assistance.
