I have a similar issue. I recently moved and have a different router name. I brought my Tango with me, and put it in setup mode but when using HP Smart it cannot find the Tango sitting right next to it. (with blue lights). I printed the Wireless Network Test Results on the Tango, and it shows a FAIL for Network Name (SSID) Found. Specifically, it is still looking for the old router that was in my old location.
I followed your link, and I do not have a WPS option. The next option from your link was to go back to the HP Smart app and press plus, which leads me back to the app not finding the Tango. (which i put in setup mode).
I am using a Windows PC which is connected to wireless off of my new router. Thanks

Hi @Freiberghk
Welcome to the HP Support Community. I'd be happy to assist you with the connectivity issue.
To better assist you - What's the operating system installed on the computer?
While you respond to that, let's try the below steps to see if that helps -
1.) Remove All Barriers: Certain building materials can get in the way of weaker signals like Bluetooth. Metal, bulletproof glass, concrete, and plaster are particularly bad, and marble, plaster and brick aren’t great easy. So if you’re really struggling with interference, your first step should be to move your Bluetooth devices away from these materials. That means no brick walls between you and your devices, and definitely no metal desks!
2.) Change Router Channel: If you have an Apple router and you’re constantly getting interference with your WiFi, try rebooting it. Upon restart, the station will search for a new channel. Specifically, a different channel than the one your Bluetooth devices is using to communicate. If you don’t have an Apple router, you may need to instead go into your router settings and try changing the channel manually. Experiment with different channels to see which one works best.
3.) Move Closer to Your Router: If you often find that you’re getting interference when talking on a wireless headset while on a WiFi call (you’ll know because you’ll hear static), try moving closer to your router. This will give you a more robust WiFi connection, so the Bluetooth frequency can’t overpower it.
4.) Get Away From Microwaves and Fluorescent Lighting: Both emit frequencies of 2.4GHz, and moving away from them will distance you from the source.
I'd like to know the following to isolate the issue further-
1.) Are the printer and computer/ mobile device are connected to the same network?
2.) Is your router dual-band enabled i.e., both 2.4GHz and 5GHz? If yes, make sure the dual band has different SSIDs for 2.4G and 5G networks.
3.) What is the distance between the router and the printer?
4.) Is there an antivirus software installed on your computer?
Hope this helps! Keep me posted.

Hi Asmita, thank you for the response. By the numers:
1. The operating system is Windows 10 Home. Fully updated.
2. The computer is connected to my wireless, but the printer is not. See my comment in the original posting that I recently moved taking my printer with me and my new Wireless Access Point (WAP) has a different SSID than the old one. The Tango Wireless network test result printout showed a FAIL for SSID Found. It is looking for the old SSID from the old wireless access point that I no longer have.
3. MY WAP is only 2.4ghz.
4. The distance between the WAP and the computer/printer is about 10 feet.
5. The anti virus on the computer is Windows Security, which is standard in Windows 10. No 3rd party anti virus installed.
Thanks,
4.

Thanks for replying @Freiberghk
Please try these steps -
Network Restore - Press and hold (the Wi-Fi button) on the back of the printer for at least three seconds. Then the printer enters the Auto Wireless Connect (AWC) setup mode. It keeps searching and waiting for the HP Smart app to connect within about two hours, and then stops searching.
To configure the printer -
1. Open the HP printer software.
2. In the printer software, click Tools.
3. Click Device Setup & Software. 4. Select Reconfigure Wireless Settings. Follow the onscreen instructions.
Alternatively, you may also try these steps -
1) Connect the printer using the Wireless Direct. Please refer to page# 32 from the Service Guide.
2) Open the browser and in the address or the URL bar type this - 192.168.223.1 to launch the EWS or the printer's page.
3) Go to the network tab > Wireless (802.11) and click on the Wireless Setup Wizard.

Thank you for the prompt response.
The HP Smart App does not have a 'Tools' option. So I was not able to proceed on that option.
While looking around in the Smart App for the Tools option, I went ahead and hit '+" one more time to see if it would find the printer. Voila. It found it and I was able to connect it to my wireless network.
Thank you for your direction and patience. Have a great day!
