HP ENVY 6032 All-In-One Printer
Microsoft Windows 11

HP Envy 6000 printer. Had it for over 12 months. I have always been able to print from my Android phone and my Chromebook, but not from my new Windows 11 laptop. My partner also has a similar issue - can print from her iOS devices but not her Windows 10 laptop.

I have HP Smart installed on my Windows 11 laptop and the printer is visible. But the HP Smart app describes the printer as 'not completely installed'.

However, the HP Smart app does not install the printer driver. It fails and directs me to Windows settings. But installations of the driver there also don't succeed.

Have tried various ways, using the wizard and through using the printer IP address. Also on WIndows settings. None work.

Looked for a manual printer driver to install, but most links lead to HP Smart as far as I can see?

Thx

Welcome to the HP support community.

I understand that you are unable to install the printer driver, I am glad to assist you.

Did you uninstall the printer driver from the root level before installing the new driver?

If not, follow these steps:-

Perform root level uninstallation to remove all the printer related software's.

  • In Windows, search for and open Programs and Features.
  • Select your HP printer.
  • Select Uninstall.
  • In Windows, search for and open Devices and Printers.
  • In the Devices and Printers window look for your HP Printer. If you see it listed, right-click on it and choose "Delete" or "Remove Device.”
  • Open up the run command with the "Windows Key + R" key combo.
  • Type printui.exe /s and click OK.
  • Click on Drivers tab.
  • Look for HP Printer driver. If you see it click on it and click Remove at the bottom.
  • Select OK.
  • Remove all instances of the same.
  • Select Apply and OK on the Print Server Properties windows.
  • Close Devices and Printers.
  • Restart the PC again.

I haven't been able to install any printer driver, hence my question - this is the issue I am asking about.

The printers listed under 'Bluetooth & device/Printers & scanners' in Windows 11 Settings are:

Fax

HP Smart Printing

Microsoft Print To PDF

Microsoft XPS Document Writer

OneNote (Desktop)

OneNote for WIndows 10

Also, I'm not sure what 'Programs and Features' is, when I search for it 'Apps & features' appears.

Tried the other part of the instructions and opened up printui.exe.

Removed an entry named 'HP Envy 6000' and closed Print Server Properties.

Restarted my laptop.

Opened the HP Smart app. It shows that I still have a 'HP Envy 6000 series' printer available. Shows as online and there is a live communication link between laptop and printer. Shows as 'now installed'.

Tried to install the driver through HP Smart - process started but (as like before) it failed with a 'There was a problem during installation message. Again, as before I was directed to manually install the printer driver through Printers & Scanners.

As before the printer does not appear - the only option is 'The printer that I want isn't listed - Add manually'.

Tried to search for a Bluetooth or network discoverable device. No devices found.

Through all this, I was still able to print to the printer via my Android phone.

Could I have a further reply and some further suggestions, please?

I still have a HP printer which refuses to link to my Windows laptop.

(As far as I can tell) this information is not helpful, because - AS I STATED IN MY ORIGINAL MESSAGE - the printer is not new and out of warranty. I cannot access 1-2-1 telephone support.

Getting really let down by the lack of support and having a printer THAT DOES NOT WORK!!!!!!!!!!!!

HP seems to only be junk. desk jet 4100e won't print no matter if it's connected via USB. just states connected, printing & nothing. the HP support are worthless too.
