My HP Solution Center stopped working too.  I installed HP Scan Extended as advised, but I still can't obtain a scan.  Scan Extended launches, the scanner responds to the software and scans the document, but I can't "preview" the scan nor "save" the scan.  I have a Photosmart C4280 printer/scanner.  I have uninstalled, and reinstalled, the Photosmart Driver-Product Installation software multiple times.  I ran the HP Print and Scan Doctor and received the message, "the tool has detected a problem with the printer Front Panel scan settings...This scanning device does not support the Scan-To...Setup dialog."

Can these 2 threads be consolidated into 1 ?
