I agree, the virtual was no help. Be sure you followed the directions I sent (and others) very carefully and in order. I too struggled with this for two days before getting it straightened out. One thing I'll mention, don't believe I said it before, when you're downloading and installing HP software and drivers (per your device serial number) you have to click the OK button on the pop ups. A few times the download seemed to freeze (I sat and watched the little circle spin round and round) but once I clicked the OK button the download continued again.

I didn't use, nor could I find an uninstall app. As another member before me had instructed, I simply went to Finder, moved ALL HP files to trash, then from Finder too, searched framework or HPDM.framework, and moved this too to trash. Empty trash !!!
Restart your computer, go to HP Easy start, put in your device serial number and follow directions. Leave your printer on, and I even restarted my computer again after the download, installation. Not sure if it was necessary, but figured it couldn't hurt.
Take your time, be patient (it's hard I know).

I was in touch with Apple via chat to learn that HP will update the drivers and certificates. Then Apple will release them in a patch update. Hopefully, this will be s quick and simple solution for those of us with basic iMac skills. The person I chatted with has the same problem at his house.
