Hi @SANKAR2016,

Welcome to HP Support Community.

Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.

If you have lost the web admin password for an HP device such as a printer, switch, or router, you can try resetting the device to its factory default settings. This will erase all configuration settings, including the admin password, and restore the device to its original state.

Here are the general steps to reset an HP device to its factory default settings.

  • Locate the reset button on the device. This is usually a small button that is recessed into the device and may require a paperclip or similar tool to press.
  • Press and hold the reset button for 10-15 seconds. Release the button when the device's lights start flashing or when you see other indications that the reset process has begun.
  • Wait for the device to complete the reset process. This can take anywhere from a few seconds to several minutes, depending on the device.
  • Once the reset process is complete, the device should be restored to its factory default settings. This includes the admin password, which will be set to the default value specified in the device's documentation.
  • Note that resetting the device to its factory default settings will erase all configuration settings, including network settings, and you will need to reconfigure the device from scratch. Make sure to have any necessary documentation or backup configurations before resetting the device.

I hope this helps.

Take care and have a good day.

Hi,

I have approached the local HP service center, they are unaware of any possibility to reset it, they are with the opinion of changing main board.

Can someone help me on this. Forgot old ews password.

Welcome to the HP support community.

I understand that you want to reset the EWS password, I am glad to assist you.

Resetting the printer's network settings to its factory default settings erases the embedded Web server (EWS) administrator password.

Follow these steps to reset the printer to the factory default settings:-

  • Press the Wireless button and the Cancel button from the printer control panel at the same time, and then hold them for three seconds.

Login to the EWS page with the default credentials and change the password.

Username: admin

Password: "leave it blank"

Let me know how it goes.

To thank me for my efforts to help you, please mark my post as an accepted solution so that it benefits several others.

Cheers.

Hi,Thanks for the response. Pressing cancel and wireless button is taking me to setup mode, yet it's asking for password. Blank password is not working, after 3 tries session is getting blocked.
