I need to reset my printer to accept HP 205A toner since I moved to Poland. In the original country it used to take the HP 204A toner,.

Hi @Adrian2025,
Welcome to the HP Support Community.
Thank you for posting your query. I will be glad to help you.
We understand you're trying to use HP 205A toner with your HP Color LaserJet Pro MFP M181fw after moving to Poland. Unfortunately, toner regional resets are not supported for this printer model.
HP toner cartridges are region-specific, and printers are configured at the factory to accept cartridges designated for the region where they were originally sold. Once configured, this regional setting becomes permanent and cannot be changed or reset, even if the device is moved to a different country.
Since your printer was originally set up to work with HP 204A toner, it will not accept HP 205A toner from the EMEA (Europe, the Middle East, and Africa) region.
We understand this may not be the answer you were hoping for, but we hope this clarifies the situation. Let us know if you have any other questions.
I hope this answers your issue.
Take care, and have an amazing day!

Unfortunately, you are absolutely wrong and are misleading users publicly. I'm sorry that I encounter such incompetence when asking for help on the HP corporate forum.
So, allow me to educate you on the service settings for HP devices.
If you need to change the printer region and use consumables from a different region, perform a regional reset on the printer to resolve this issue by pressing the appropriate key combination on the printer panel. After this operation and selecting the correct region, the printer works properly and accepts 205A toner cartridges.
I'm disappointed that I didn't receive such assistance on the original HP forum, but had to rely on information from sources unrelated to HP.

@Adrian2025 I'm sorry you feel that way, however, for the benefit of the public, as you've mentioned, I should explain that the regional reset steps you've mentioned are only applicable for inkjet printers, however, if you would have mentioned that you are recieving any error codes, such as "10.20.43, 10.21.43, 10.22.43, 10.23.43 Incompatible Cartridge", we could attempt a reset using the steps mentioned in this article: click here to view.
I hope this clarification helps!
If you have any follow-up questions, please do let me know.
I'd love to help!

To begin with: Did you even bother to read which printer model this topic was created about? It is clearly stated that the issue concerns the M181fw model, not an inkjet printer as you suggest. An HP expert should know which model they are commenting on before giving a misleading answer. SHAME!
Second point: The link you provided for resetting the settings does not apply to the printer mentioned in this topic, but to a different model. The M181fw printer does not have the options shown there.
Furthermore, it does not display any error message, just information about an incompatible cartridge.

Hi @Adrian2025,
Thank you for getting back. Just to clarify, we are not referring to an Inkjet printer in this case. We only mentioned that the Regional Reset applies exclusively to Inkjet devices.
Since your printer is a LaserJet model, the link we shared earlier contains the correct steps to help you proceed, with separate instructions for both touchscreen and non-touchscreen models.
