Hello.
I recently changed WiFi hub to three homefi. I can connect to it fine and can print very basic text but anything with colour or lots of information will slow it down so much it actually stops.
I have tried unplugging it for a minute etc. Reset to factory.
Any help would be appreciated.
Thanks
Dov

Welcome to the HP Support Community!
- Have you tried to make a standalone copy and check if it is slow too?
Power resetting the printer, rebooting the network devices may resolve this issue. Let us try these steps:
Step 1: Reset the printer
1. With the printer turned on, disconnect the power cord from the rear of the printer.
2. Wait at least 60 seconds.
3. Reconnect the power cord to the rear of the printer.
4. Turn ON the printer, if it does not automatically turn on.
5. Wait until the printer is idle and silent before you proceed.
Note: HP recommends connecting the printer directly to a wall outlet rather than a surge protector or a power strip.
Step 2: Check the Wireless network strength and check for any interference.
Restart the network devices
- Turn off the Router, Printer, and the computer/ mobile devices.
- Wait for 60 seconds.
- Turn on the Router first and wait for all the lights to stabilize.
- Turn on the printer and allow it to configure itself.
- Turn on the computer/ mobile devices.
Step 3: Check the printer preferences
Selecting certain paper types or printing in Best quality can slow print speeds. Print with plain paper in Normal or Draft quality for faster print speeds.
-
Search Windows for printers, and then click Printers & scanners in the list of results.
-
Click your printer, and then click Manage.
-
Click Printing Preferences.
-
Click the Paper/Quality tab.
-
In the Paper Type field, make sure Plain Paper is selected.
-
In the Print Quality field, make sure Draft or Normal is selected.
-
Click OK or Apply to confirm the changes.
-
Try to print.
Step 4: Clean uninstallation of Pre-installed HP drivers
- In Windows, search for and open Programs and features
- Select your HP Printer
- Select Uninstall
- In Windows, search for and open Devices and printers
- In the Devices and Printers windows look for your HP printer. If you see it listed right-click on it and choose ‘Delete’ or ‘Remove Device’
- Open up the run command with the “Windows key + R” key combo.
- Type printui.exe /s and click Ok. (Note: there is a space in between “printui.exe” and “/s”)
- Click on the “Drivers” tab
- Look for HP Printer driver. If you see it Click on it and click Remove at the bottom
- Select Ok
- Select Apply and Ok on the Print Server Properties windows
- Close Devices and Printers, restart the computer.
Step 5: Click here to download HP Full-featured driver.
Once downloaded, make sure to run the file to start the installation and follow the on-screen instructions.
Let me know how this goes.

Hi thankyou very much for your help.
I have tried steps 1 to 3 and just reinstalled drivers and it's still very slow to print.
I tried updating firmware in web services but it doesn't want to connect.
Thanks again but I'm not sure what else to try.
