hi everyone, I posted a few weeks ago with this same question but no one replied.I acquired a HP Envy 5055 printer secondhand, it was missing a black ink cartridge so I purchased one, but after installing it, I get an error saying I need to use "setup cartridges" which I do not have. I see another post with this same issue, https://h30434.www3.hp.com/t5/Printing-Errors-or-Lights-Stuck-Print-Jobs/no-setup-carts-for-HP-Envy-... where an HP support agent provided the steps to bypass this error in private messages to a number of people. could I also receive the steps to bypass the setup-cartridges error? thanks in advance.

@TravisHenville, Welcome to the HP Support Community! I’m here to help.
I understand you do not have the setup ink cartridges.
To bypass the message on the printer the only option left is to perform an OOBE reset and re-initialize the printer.
The reset instructions are specific for your printer and performing those steps on a different printer may brick the device.
I've sent you a private message with reset instructions, follow the reset instruction to perform a full reset and re-initialize the printer.
In order to access your private messages, click the private message icon on the upper right corner of your HP Support Community profile, next to your profile Name or simply click on this link.
Hope this helps! Keep me posted.

I’m having the same issue with my office jet pro 8035. I was on the phone with ho for an hour earlier and didn’t receive any help. They told me to go back to Amazon where I purchased it who keeps sending me back here. If there is a bypass can you help me too please. I’m so frustrated.
