Welcome to the HP Community --

Yes - scammed.

The name of the company is not as important as the sudden pop-up and claim to help if you would just click on the mystery pop-up, provide your private information, and -- usually -- a credit card.

The first rule about Pop-ups:  Never click on mystery pop-ups.

The second rule:  Tighten your browser, computer, and network security so errant pop-ups are prohibited.

Dragon Opinion

If you did provide the inquisitive thief with any private information, consider the information compromised.

If you (shudder) let the rascal into your computer, consider anything and everything not tied down behind an encryption curtain to be compromised, including documents, pictures, and the password to your network.

If you gave away your credit card information, contact your bank - stop the payment - ask for a block.

Consider getting a new credit card.
