I have HP Smart and I have used the same app for years with the same basic printer the HP jet all in 12700. I refill my cartridges and all of a sudden I’m unable to print or scan or do anything. I have this little envelope showing up with The! I can’t align my cartridges or whatever it’s called and I’m having an issue because I haven’t purchased a plan which is never happened before !!! How do I fix my printer without paying.

I did not know the 2700 model had refillable cartridges. As far as I know, the 2700 uses either new HP cartridges or refurbished cartridges that have the HP control chip inside.
While Some HP printers can use non-HP ink the below type is unlikely to work, either printing or scanning.
However, it should be able to print diagnostics even with non-HP ink if you have genuine HP ink then possibly the printhead needs too be cleaned.
General advice on printhead cleaning is here.
This link shows cleaning the 8600 printhead and removal is shown here.
This is another type of printhead cleaning, different from the above.

An HP original video on how to clean the printheads by our experts. Yes, this can get messy, but it works. If your ink levels are good but you are printing blank pages then this is likely the solution.
Official HP advice on cleaning.
Some printers have a printhead cleaning procedure.
To clean the printhead on an HP printer, access the printer settings through the HP Smart app, navigate to "Print Quality Tools," and select "Clean Printhead"; this will initiate a cleaning cycle where the printer will automatically run a cleaning process to clear any clogs in the printhead |
Inkjet and printhead cleaning kits are available
Consumer inkjet printer printheads typically last for several years, with some lasting up to 10 years or even longer. However, the lifespan can vary greatly depending on usage, maintenance, and environmental factors.
