why does the printer just drop offline? and why so hard to hook back up??

My 3700 desk jet is always offline when I am using my MacBook Air. When printing from a phone it works just fine. What is the trick to making it stay online?

The document is fairly thorough -- it might not specifically address the vagaries of a Dual Network.

If you are running a Dual Network (both 2.4GHz and 5GHz),

Make sure the printer is connected to the SSID named network for the frequency (band) the printer should be using.

For example, this printer likely only supports 2.4GHz --

Make sure the router is broadcasting on both frequencies,

Connect the printer to the SSID named network you have created for 2.4GHz.
