HP OfficeJet 7510 Wide Format All-in-One Printer

Hi, my printer has been working great for years and suddenly refuses to print because "Error 0xc19a0003"

I did :

multiple power resets, with and without cartridges installed

a factory reset

checked multiple times that the firmware is the latest available

I (carefully) removed the printhead and washed every part of it with IsoPropyl Alcohol before putting it back together (the electrolytic capacitors looked fine, no burn no bulge. There was light traces of oxidation on the golden pads where the tiny springs (to read ink level) touch the gold plated pads but the printer can still read the ink level so I guess it's OK)

I cleaned the "timing ribbon" (used by the printhead to align) free of any grease/ink.

The printhead is mobile (and seems properly positioned, as it goes where it should go when I open the cartridge loading door).

The error stays even if I remove all cartridges (but sometimes it warns me that there is a missing one, sometimes only (and then back to the 0xc19a0003 error a couple of seconds later), most of the time it doesn't). Everything about it seems fine, there was no power outage, nothing weird happened to it (a baby played nearby a couple days before it stopped working, but it doesn't seem relevant)

There is nothing inside it that shouldn't be here : no toy, no paper jam, no debris, no dust,   the only "weird" stuff is (was) the colossal amount of dried ink in the right part, I cleaned what I could without disassembling it completely. The limit switch that is above the dried ink puddle seems to trigger properly. There is still some amount of goo (thick semi-dried ink from years of using it) there...

What did I miss ? Please give me something other than "try to unplug it from the wall"

HUGE thanks in advance to anyone willing to help 🙂

PS : sorry for the bad English, non-native.

Thanks, I think it helped !

For my OfficeJet7510 the "cheat code" was to press 4 times on the (unlit) "back" button to access the Service Menu (in case your link gets broken, which is so frustrating for future user with the same problem).

I did a couple "Semi-full Reset", it didn't work, my second -amazon- printhead was probably not OK but I managed to put back the original one in place, and what made it work again was :

putting official HP cartridge instead of the one I had from a few weeks from a non-official compatible ink provider.

then "Semi-full reset"

and *magically* my printhead is no longer broken. As if HP was also a wizzard, idk.

The trick is : the printer identified the unofficial cartridge, let me use it for some time (still wondering if "some time" or "untill the last firmware upgrade"), then magically displayed a false error message. This message lead me here and to twiXtter where the first answer was always "your printer is broken, upgrade to new one". The unofficial cartridge did not break my printer (paid for, out of warranty, why is it HP's business which ink I put into ?), and the official ink did not magically repair my printhead. The printhead was never broken, HP just wants more money. Sorry, I mean "Abracadabra"

"To avoid any potential loss of quality or damage to your printer resulting from the use of unofficial ink, we're bricking your printer now. You're welcome. PS: upgrade to a new one :)"

You have done all the right things.  My guess is the printhead needs to be replaced.  They are expensive and you might considerer a new printer.

I found your parts list here

and googled for the part as you can see here

This discussion listed two part numbers

Neither of those part numbers showed up here although OfficeJet7510 Printhead was clearly listed

Hi BeemerBiker !

Thanks a lot for your fast and useful answer 🙂

The part you found on Aliexpress is indeed too expensive, but there are others like this https://fr.aliexpress.com/item/1005004153188878.html or this https://www.amazon.fr/dp/B0BZ7PZFQX that are better priced (it's not the whole carriage but just the printhead, and both look exactly the same as the one I have), so I ordered the amazon one (more expensive but next day delivery) and I'll try it tomorrow when it arrives.

In case it doesn't, do you have any idea of what could be that is malfunctioning in my printer's printhead ?  I'm willing to fix it until it's unfixable, because I am not throwing it away just because someone from HP told me to buy a new printer 🙂

Thanks, again, for your help, and I'll try to give you an update tomorrow

Hopefully the new printhead will work.

The first time I bought a part from AliExpress I was required to upload a picture of myself holding my drivers license.

I did get the part in, a console display for a canon printer, and never had a problem with them again.  That was actually not the first time I had to do something like that as coinbase also required a photo.

Hi ! It arrived later than expected but i've put it in place and....

The HP printer still doesn't work.

Same error, with a new printhead (to be fair, it's probably refurbished but it looks clean).

I've installed it without any cartridge and it detected it and warned me briefly before the "There is a problem with the printhead" message came back. The new printhead only cost half the price of a new HP ink cartridges pack.

Do you have any idea of what I should check next ?

Thanks in advance to anyone willing to share information 🙂
