477DW prints frames and question marks instead of text

Same issue.  Just did HP firmware update a few days ago.  

Running Microsoft Word w/ MacBook Pro w OS 11.1 Big Sur

I only seem to have the issue when I try to print PDF's out of the browser instead or opening it properly in Acrobat Reader. If I print it out of Acrobat Reader, it prints just fine.

FIXED IT! - Just the Adobe - not the other. I'll try it soon though. 

I'm not great with all the applications, but when I open my finder and go to applications, adobe isn't even showing there. I tried downloading it to my computer, but it still isn't showing in applications. Sure wish I was more computer literate.

I was able to make it print properly by opening a PDF that was created via word with Adobe Acrobat reader instead of Apple Preview.  

I am still kicking myself for saying "yes" to the firmware update.   Bad move all the way around.

It's a Mac - HP issue.. I converted my word flies to google doc and printed my documents without any problems... printing correctly from word directly is imposible for now... I hope you can get this reply useful...

I have a 552DW and I have a work around. I needed to print something for a meeting tomorrow.  In the Print Menu, select PDF (save as PDF).

Open in Adobe Acrobat and then print. On the print menu, select advanced. Under the Color Management option, select Print As Image. That is the only way I can avoid the dreaded boxes with question marks.

Help Been to HP, APPLE and MICROSOFT for the past 5 days.  I'm going around and around.  After Auto Upload of Big Sur.  I CANNOT print Microsoft Office 365 Word or Excel but I can print anywhere else, my aol mail, online, website, etc.   I have tried deleting, adding both software, hardware and all I get is SQUARE BOXES with ? inside of the box.  No letters or numbers.  I am beyond frustration. About ready to buy another printer.
