We have a new 8130e HP printer. It printed fine for a couple of weeks and now whenever I try to print I get a notice on my computer that the printer is out of paper. There is paper in the tray.
This is happening when I choose the 8130e from the printer list in the printing dialogue.
I have taken the paper out and made sure everything was good and no paper was bent.
There are no obstructions in the paper area.
It's a new printer so the print rollers should be good.
The settings show the tray is letter sized which is the paper that is loaded.
If I use the "HP Smart Printing" option in the printing dialogue, the job prints with no errors.
I realize I can just use that option, however, the printer is with my elderly parents and they don't remember to choose that option. Nonetheless, if the printer knows there is paper with the "HP Smart Printing" option, why would it not recognize paper if I choose the actual printer in the options?

So I called HP Tech support as I was still under warranty. They determined that the driver was choosing the "HP Smart Printing" option rather than the printer named driver as the best driver. When we choose the "HP Smart Printing" as the default printer, the printer has no issues printing and does not give the no paper error. If we choose the HP 8130e printer named printer then we get errors. So we deleted the HP8130e printer and will just use the "HP Smart Printing". We renamed it with the printer name and everything seems to work fine.
