@brnel, Welcome to HP Support Community,

Thank you for posting your query; I’m here to help by guiding you through steps to resolve this issue

It sounds like your HP ENVY 4520 printer is having trouble printing, and the print jobs are getting stuck in the print queue. This can happen for a variety of reasons, but we can go through some steps to try and resolve it. Here's a step-by-step guide:

Cancel All Print Jobs in the Queue

Open the Printers & Scanners settings on your PC.

Select your HP ENVY 4520 printer.

Click on Open Queue.

If there are any stuck print jobs, right-click them and choose Cancel. You may need to cancel all of them to clear the queue.

Restart the Printer and Computer

Turn off your HP ENVY 4520 printer.

Unplug the printer from the power outlet and wait for about 1 minute.

Restart your computer.

Plug the printer back in and turn it on.

This can sometimes clear any temporary issues with the printer or the connection.

Check for Printer Driver Issues

In Devices and Printers, right-click your HP ENVY 4520 and choose Printer Properties.

Under the Advanced tab, ensure the correct driver is selected. If you’re unsure, you can visit the HP support website to download the latest drivers for Windows 11.

If you think the driver may be corrupted, try removing the printer from your computer, then reinstalling it.

Restart Print Spooler (Windows):

  1. Search services in the search box. Open the service menu.
  2. In the list, find Print Spooler.
  3. Right-click Print Spooler and click Restart.
    1. If it’s stopped, click Start instead.
  4. Close the window. Check if the issue persists

Run HP Print and Scan Doctor (Windows only):

Update Printer Firmware (Update the firmware on an HP printer | HP® Support)

  • Go to the HP Customer Support - Software and Driver Downloads page. Enter your printer model number and search for the latest firmware update. Follow the instructions to download and install the firmware update.

Also, refer to this guide: HP printers - Print jobs stuck in print queue (Windows, macOS) | HP® Support

I hope this helps.
