Envy 5640
Microsoft Windows 7 (64-bit)

I work for a bank who lock down our (Win7) PCs very heavily so I cannot load drivers for my new Envy 5640 printer

Getting the support guys to add a non-standard (in their minds!) driver is a nightmare

Does anyone know of alternative drivers (that Win7 would have) that I could use - definitely for printing and ideally for scanning

Many thanks for any help you can give with this

Jonathan

@Jona6tc, welcome to the HP forums! It is a great way to post questions and find resolutions by working with specialists in the HP community.

I greatly value your relationship with HP. You are a valued HP customer and we appreciate you for doing business with HP.

I understand that you need the drivers for your HP ENVY 5640 e-All-in-One Printer.

It’ll be a great pleasure to assist you with this.

Please follow the steps from the link to download the drivers: Full Feature Software and Drivers

You can also use the Windows Built-in Print Driver from the link: http://support.hp.com/in-en/document/c01796879

Hope this helps. Let me know how this goes. Take care now and have a good day.

Sorry this is not what I asked for....I explained I cannot install ANYTHING due to the lock down of my PC

I am asking if there is an alternative driver for Win  7 that may be on my PC already that would work to print with the 5640

thanks

@Jona6tc, thank you for your reply, I'll be more than glad to help you.

I understand that you wanted to install the built-in drivers from your computer.

Please follow the link to install the Windows Built-in Print Drivers: http://support.hp.com/in-en/document/c01796879

These drivers are already there in your computer, you just need to add them using the add printer wizard mentioned in step 3 in the above link.

Let me know if this works.

I hope you have a good day ahead.

Sorry this is no good as my PC is VERY locked down.....so I cannot run the process described

Can I ask again in simple words

Is there another printer that would have drivers (already on Wind7) that would allow me to do basic printing on my 5640

thanks
