The printer I'm dealing with (it's my parents', and it was purchased a while back, I guess) is a full-on dud. Just taken out of the box, didn't work. Bought new ink, didn't work. Cleaned the entire thing, and reset it, didn't work. Tech Support is beyond worthless. It's been the same two people every time I've called, but they use different names each time, thinking I won't recognize their voices. The guy even put me on hold (on my cell) for maybe 7-14 minutes, so I called with my home phone. I got him again, and mentioned that I knew it was him. He immediately hung up the call with the house phone, and took me off hold on my cell. He said they'll be able to send me a new printer, and that his "supervisor" will call me tomorrow. I doubt that'll happen (and I never even asked for that, I just want valid help to get this POS to work). I recorded every phone call I made, if anyone wants to hear it. Does anyone have advice on this kind of thing? I've only had to call Customer Service / Tech Support a handful of times in my life, and HP has certainly been something to remember..

Update: I never got a call back, and now I've been on hold for 15 minutes, because the ordeal has been "escalated", and they're "going to connect me" to higher-ups. My parents both have dementia and I'm really not about to tell them that I can't print any pictures of our family because HP doesn't care about their customers. I'm still on hold, I'll give updates though. I'm going to call with the home phone.
