Product: OfficeJet 3830
Operating System: Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

I recently upgraded my printer from an Envy 7640 to an Office Jet 3830.  From the 7640 I still have several black cartridges unused (No 62XL) and the 3830 uses No 63XL (also black).  Are the cartridges interchangeable?  They certainly appear to be more than just similar.  I would appreciate a valid answer, because I do not wish to damage the new perinter.  Any suggestions if they are not interchangeable?

They are not interchangeable.

 

You will not hurt or damage printer if you install wrong ink cartridge, the printer will inform you that installed cartridge isn't intended to use in this printer.
