Mine is a model 6835 but I'm having the same problem -- suddenly no black printing. Colors are fine. Very frustrated. I posted this on another topic, specifically about the 934XL cartridge. I want to get a warranty reimbursement or replacement. Not seeing how to submit a claim. I hate the support section of this web site. Has me going in circles after I already followed all troubleshooting steps.

Well I did contact HP support with a phone call that just ended. You know what? After discussing the situation with the support person their only suggestion was that I buy a new HP printer with a "discount" because my printer clearly has a hardware problem and it is out of warranty. I argued with the rep, telling him I own an HP laptop, HP monitor, and two HP printers and all I am asking for is a refund of the cost of the two black ink cartridges which were still under warranty. He said he couldn't do that, so I asked him to escalate to a supervisor. He did and came back on the phone to say no, they won't refund me the cost of my wasted ink. I made it clear that HP was losing a customer loyal to the brand over the cost of 2 ink cartridges and he and his supervisor didn't care.

Why on earth would I spend another dollar on HP products when they continued to sell the 6830 line of printers with known printhead hardware defect and not inform their customers? Shame on HP. Read the forums and you will see many customers experiencing the same issue and many of them who will never buy another HP printer.

I have brought your issue to the attention of an appropriate team within HP. They will likely request information from you in order to look up your case details or product serial number. Please look for a private message from an identified HP contact. Additionally, keep in mind not to publicly post personal information (serial numbers and case details).

If you are unfamiliar with how the Community's private message capability works, you can learn about that here.
