HP Envy 7855
Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

On my HP envy 7855, the little screen on the printer gets an error message "d80774ec" after about 20 minutes after a restart.  The printer is fully functional til then.  Not sure if this matters, but I am subscribed to InstantInk.  These are the steps that I have gone through to try to resolve the issue.

  1. Reset my printer - Plugged it out and waited several hours. Removed the cartridges as well.  I have also reset everything to factory settings.
  2. Cleared the network settings, and switched to 2.4Ghz band
  3. Checked to see if the firmware was up to date - It has the latest update.

I am not sure what else can be done.  Please advise if there is a solution.  It's barely out of warranty which makes this even more frustrating.

Thanks

Hi @mcmaster4321,

I'd like to help!

I understand you are receiving a "D80774EC" error.

We can perform factory defaults on the printer to resolve the issue but you will have to set up the printer and the service again.

  • The reset instructions are specific for your printer and performing those steps on a different printer may corrupt the device.
  • I've sent you a private message with reset instructions, follow the reset instruction to perform a full reset and re-initialize the printer.

I have the exact same error code on my printer. Everything will be printing fine, and then the blue screen will come up with the error code D80774EC. How do I get it fixed for my printer? Thanks so much for your help!
