I recieve blurry scans on my laptop when scanning a document. Oringinal doucment in perfect condition i.e., NOT blurry, so that is a non-issue.
Second problem is that when I create a document using Word I can directly print a perfect text document. If I then immediately scan new/perfect text looking document, it will appear blurry on Adobe Acrobat DC Pro and in return, print blurry.
I have searched and searched for answers and have tried everything I have found to no avail. I am at your mercy!! Please any help or suggestions would be greatly appreciated, even if ive already tried it before. I am determined. Don't give up on me, I wont give up on you!
Also, im not very tech savvy but with clear explainations I can figure my way through just about anything.
Thank you.

Hi @Justin1690,
Thanks for reaching out to the forums! I understand that you are having issues with the scan quality. I would be happy to help you.
Did you download and install the HP Easy Start driver?
Check the driver name that is installed for the printer. Make sure it shows just the printer's name.
Click the Apple menu and then click System Preferences. Click Printers & Scanners, highlight the printer name on the left side and on the right side of the screen it should show the printer's name. (Officejet 8610)
If the full printer name isn't listed correctly, delete it and add the printer name back in from the list. Click the - sign to delete the driver and then click the + sign to add the driver, might have to click the drop down to select the printer's name to add it in.
I would do a hard reset to see if that will resolve the issue.
Leave the printer on and unplug the power cable from the printer
and wall outlet for 60 seconds.
Then reconnect the power cable to the printer and wall outlet
rather than a surge protector.
This ensures the printer is receiving full power and may help
this situation.
If you haven't already, please try these steps: Lines or Bands in Scans, Copies, or Faxes. Disregard the title.
What application are you using to scan with?
If the issue is resolved and you appreciate my help, please click the "Accept as Solution" button and the "Thumbs Up". Let me know how you make out. Cheers!

Hello,
Thank you for your reply. I had updated the driver prior to creating this thread and unplugging the printer has not seemed to make a difference either. I still have no clue as to why the documnets would be scanning to and appearing blurry on my computer. I notice that when I print it seems as thought there are thousands of tiny faint grayish dots across the entire document. Do you have any advice in that department?
Thanks again

Thanks for getting back to me @Justin1690.
Try scanning with the HP Scan Software to see if you have the same results:
Scanning from a Mac Computer (OS X).
You can try the HP Easy Scan software also.
Are you having the same issue when copying and printing the document?
It may be a hardware issue and not software related.
Let me know the results. Thanks!

I just tried to use the HP scanner and the image stills shows on the computer as a little fuzzy/blurry. I then typed a few sentences into MS Word (were everything is always clear and prints clear) and printed that page. From MS Word everything prints normally still. So I took that newly printed page, scanned it with the HP scanner and the same result happens. The image does look a little more clear than before but still not crisp. Could this be an Adobe issue?
The photo below was taken with my phone and bad lighting so I hope you can see the difference. The Top is the fuzzy/blurry text and the Bottom image is the clear straight from MS Word.
Thank you

Thanks for providing that information @Justin1690.
Did you try scanning with Apple Image Capture and the HP Scan Software with the same results?
Try this document to see if it helps: Lines or Bands in Scans, Copies, or Faxes.
Make sure the printer is connected directly to a wall outlet.
Try making a copy to see if you have the same issue. It may be the scanner bulb.
I would update the printer's firmware to see if that may help: HP OfficeJet Pro 8610/8615/8616 All-in-One Printer Firmware Update.
Thanks!

1.Plug printer directly into wall socket. Not a surge protector. The printer has a built in surge protection unit, plugging it into another surge protector can mess with how much power it recieves.
2. Ensure the scanner bed cover is fully closed, if it isn't the scanned object can have a shadowy or out of focus look to it. I just firmly, but carefully, applied pressure on top while scanning and copying, they came out perfect.
Hopefully this helped. But I'm guessing you got a new printer since the OP is 2 years old.
