I used the suggested answer at https://h30434.www3.hp.com/t5/Printing-Errors-or-Lights-Stuck-Print-Jobs/Cannot-print-booklets/m-p/9... and thought it would work to print booklets. Nope. On a four page documents, page 1 & 3 are right side up and pages 2 & 4 are upside down. What am I missing?

The original document was created in word 2016 and then exported to Acrobat Reader 2025.001.20756.

@RealGomer, Welcome to HP Support Community,

Thank you for posting your query; I’m here to help by guiding you through steps to resolve this issue

It appears that you are experiencing issues with printing a booklet correctly, where pages are not aligning as expected. Here are some steps you can try to ensure the booklet is printed correctly:

Check Print Settings in Acrobat Reader:

  • Open your document in Acrobat Reader.
  • Go to "File" > "Print".
  • In the Print dialog, select your HP OfficeJet Pro 8135e as the printer.
  • Under "Page Sizing & Handling", select "Booklet".
  • Ensure "Booklet Subset" is set to "Both sides".
  • Choose "Binding" as "Left" for right-side-up orientations on both sides.
  • Check "Auto portrait/landscape" for optimal orientation settings.

Check Page Orientation:

  • Double-check the original Word document's layout settings.
  • Make sure all pages are uniformly oriented (either all portrait or all landscape).

Printer Driver Settings:

  • Open the printer properties through Windows.
  • Confirm that the duplex printing settings match those in Acrobat.
  • Ensure that any print setting like "Flip on Long Edge" or "Flip on Short Edge" matches booklet printing which usually needs "Flip on Short Edge".

Preview in Print Dialog:

  • Use the print preview to verify the layout before printing. This will allow you to see any misalignment in advance.

Update Printer Firmware and Software:

  • Make sure your printer's firmware is up-to-date. Visit the HP Support site for firmware updates.
  • Update Acrobat Reader or Word if there's a newer version available.

Manual Page Setup:

  • If automatic settings don’t align properly, you may need to manually set up a custom page size or manually reorder the pages in the Print dialog.

I hope this helps.

Please feel free to reply here if you have any questions or if you need further clarification on any of the steps.

Take care and have a good day.
