I just bought the same printer  (because my last HP printer died after 1.8 years) and have spent 3 hours! trying to resolve this issue.  I have one phone on hold with Staples tech support and 1 on hold with HP support...both just  saying that they are experiencing higher than usual calls...

Anyhow, I tried the reset 3 times, no luck.  My husband wants me to just return it  and never buy another HP.  What a waste of time!

Weird, but  TRUE.  Setup with either cartridge - just ONE.  Then install second upon completion.  No idea WHY that works, but it does.  Good Luck!    (forget all the "reset and pray" posts).

HP Recommended

Complete Setup with ONE cartridge (either one); upon completion, add the second one.  Good Luck!

Can you send me the reset proceedure to reset my HP Envy Photo 7855? I cannot get the error message - use setup cartridges that came with your printer.

Thank you,
