Hi community,

 

I was living in Russia and bought my printer there.

Now I'm living in Czech Republic and was very surprised (and frustrated) to learn that there are no cartridges for that printer that can be bought here. Moreover, there's no way to order them online with delivery to Czech Republic.

 

I've read on Internet that color cartidge 650 available in Czech Republic is compatible with number 46 available in Russia. So I've bought one for testing and have found out that

1) they are absolutely the same in terms of size and form

2) even the dots on the microscheme look the same

3) but I get the message that this cartridge is incompatible.

 

The only way I've found is to buy  non-genuine cartidges on aliexpress. This way I didn't want to follow but it looks like the vendor is not leaving any other option for users.

I was badly surprised with such approach of HP - incompatibility of printers on a country-by-country basis and no way to buy genuine cartridges online :(.

 

Can anybody advice me what to do (except for buying a new printer)? Can I do something for my printer to work on  #650 instead of #46?

I have a printer bought in Russia and I can't use it in Czech Republic (and any other country of the world - Surprise!)

 

there are no regional settings and no replacement for cartridges (although original #46 looks all the same as #650 sold in Czech republic)

 

The only advice I have got is to throw it away and buy a new printer - or try to order cartridges from Russia (cheaper to buy a laser printer instead)

Summary is the following: there are no regional settings for my printer and no cartridges available to buy in other countries as this printer (HPDeskJet Ink Advantage 2520hc) is being sold in Russia only (according to Czech sales team - but I have found that it is sold in Zambia also - not helping any way)

 

So the advice is either to throw it away and buy a new one locally, or to buy cartridges in Russia (cheaper will be to buy a new laser printer).

 

Exceptional customer experience (it was sarcasm, just in case).

 

I can't imagine any good reason for limiting customers with use of printers across the world and making cartridges available internationally for all types of printers. If they think people will buy more, then this will not be the case, I think. At least myself, am going to buy a printer from another vendor next time (and all other devices), as quality of service and overall attitude is very disappointing.
