I want to know whether  HP Deskjet 3720 can scan ID cards with the size and thickness of credit card?

Hello,

You will be able to scan ID cards. Keep the card at extreme right for printer to detect. The light will glow once the card is detected. Hit copy. What you might have to do now, is push the card slightly when the printer is trying to pull by making a copy. Hope this helps!

This printer has a small and rolling scanning area. I afraid it can damage the card. I need an advice from somebody who has done it before.

Hi ,

I understand you are trying to scan ID card. Scanning does not matter the thickness of the ID but if you would like to make a copy of ID card this Printer will not do.

Please check the specification below.

Unless until very tick id card, it should scan. Again, you may have to push it slightly manually while copying.

Hi,

I have tried scanning a normal ID card on DeskJet 3720 before and it worked.

Please bias the ID card to the right datum, the lightguide will light up and push the ID card until it touches the roller and the roller start to move.

I just did it, dude all you have to do is push the card through the feeder on the right. if you look close you can see an icon that looks like a card (Face up). once the scanner detects the card it will pull it up. I'm sure you figured it out by now being that this post is a year old but I have a feeling that someone else will have the same question.

Will it work on hard/thick cards that is made out of PVC? Wont it damage the card or printer?
