I need to replace the colour cartrigde. This wil be the first time Iver tried changing them as I got the printer a christmas. I cant open the cover. Ive tried everything including the services, printer spool thingy and restarting. A message says the door must be closed while printing and it does not open. Nothing is printing, nothing is queued, nothing is jammed, Ive powered off, powered on, everything. I cant do anything with the darn thing. Can anyone pleeeeeease help. Many thanks.

I understand you have issues opening the printer cover to replace the ink cartridges.

 

Don't worry I'd like to help you out.

 

Did you make any changes to your printer?

 

Try few steps recommended below.

 

Reset the product
Press the Power button () to turn on the product.
Disconnect the USB cable from the back of the product.
Disconnect the power cord from the electrical outlet.
Disconnect the power cord from the product.
Wait 30 seconds.
Reconnect the power cord to the electrical outlet.
Reconnect the power cord to the product.
Press the Power button () to turn on the product.
Reconnect the USB cable to the product.
Check the product control panel to see if the error message still displays.

 

Refer this document to know more information about replacing ink cartridges on the printer.

 

Also, Refer this article to further troubleshoot Door Open error message on the printer.

 

If the issue still persists after trying out the steps.

Thank you for your reply but sadly after following your steps I still can not open the door to change the cartridges.

I appreciate your efforts for trying out the steps.

 

As you mentioned you are still unable to open the cover to replace the cartridges.

 

It looks like the cover might be jammed in your printer.
