That worked to get rid of the "in use" window. But now I'm having trouble downloading the new driver. I hit the "Download" and the "run or save" window apperas at the bootom of my screen, but when I hit run nothing happens?

Hey @rpsguy,
Very strange. The download is functioning as I tried it on my system. This may be a 'glitch' with your Internet Browser.
Rather than Run can I have you select Save. If you see the option can you just Save the download on your computer desktop so it will be easy to find later on. Once the download is complete you should get the option to Run it. If you see this hit Run. An extraction will automatically occur. Once the extraction is complete the installation window should pop open for you. Once you see the installation window you simply continue through the onscreen installation instructions to install your printer.
If 'Saving' the download doesn't resolve the downloading issue, please click here to access the Downloads page again. Once this page opens please right click on the File Name and left click on Save Target As or Save Link As.
A Save window will now pop open. Please save the download on your Desktop. You can rename the download if you want to. Lastly, click Save.
Once this download is complete, you should get the pop up to Run it. If you don't get that prompt once the download is complete, please click on the download that has been saved on your desktop and select Run when prompted.
Please let me know if these steps work for you. Best of luck! 🙂

SUCCESS!! Thanks X-23 it worked and the Printer works fine again. The Download wouldn’t “run” so I saved it as you suggested and that ran it from my desktop. Thanks again and Kudo’s to U for all your help. Thanks Again, HAPPY rpsguy

Deskjet F380 All-In-One printer on Windows 7 Home Premium 64-bit system: Followed the instructions, downloaded successfully and the Installer ran but asked for "original media or location". I put the original cd which goes back to the version 7.0.1 days in the cd drive and nothing happened. I note that the printer still produced copies and test sheet but the paper jam error still occured. What does the installer want from the old cd? Does it look for the drive and start it? Won't that old cd load old information over the new download package? Do I need to redo the steps that you listed? Thanks for your help X23

As I understand you are getting a Paper Jam error message on your HP DeskJet F380 printer. Don't worry we'll work together to find a solution for you,
Let's try the steps suggested in the support document: Click here
If the issue persists, I would suggest you go ahead and uninstall the printer drivers and then install the full feature software.
Steps to uninstall the printer:
1.) In Windows, search for and open Programs and features
2.) Select your HP Printer
3.) Select Uninstall
4.) In Windows, search for and open Devices and printers
5.) In the Devices and Printers windows look for your HP printer. If you see it listed right-click on it and choose 'Delete' or 'Remove Device'
6.) Open up the run command with the "Windows key + R" key combo.
7.) Type printui.exe /s and click Ok. (Note: there is a space in between “printui.exe” and “/s”)
8.) Click on the "Drivers" tab
9.) Look for HP Printer driver. If you see it Click on it and click Remove at the bottom
10.) Select Ok
11.) Select Apply and Ok on the Print Server Properties windows
12.) Close Devices and Printers
Now Click on the link to install the full feature software.
Let me know how it goes!
Thanks & Regards,

Sorry for delayed response. Holidays got in the way. I ran printui.exe /s and Windows Update apparently downloaded the new driver. I followed the rest of the instructions and successfully cleared the jam message. thank you for your help. Good to have my printer back.
