The printer needs to have the paper loaded as illustrated the User Guide (starting on page 10).
Next, set the Tray and Paper Management preferences.
The Embedded Web Server (EWS) can be reached from your browser and, if it is supported for your printer, from within the HP Smart for mobile application.
Open your favorite browser > type / enter Printer IP address into URL / Address bar
Tab Settings > Preferences > Tray and Paper Management
If applicable, check the Advanced section (at the bottom of the Tray and Paper Management menu)
Click Apply to save changes
OR
Open HP Smart for Mobile
Click Settings wheel
Select Add / Set Up a Printer
Select Tray and Paper
