I am having the exact same issue and I cannot seem to read any response from hp  on how to solve it.

there is no paper jam  there never was a paper jam...I have opened the doors close the doors on all of them.

I have followed all of the steps including unplugging and all that stuff and have not had any success in resetting this.

I just purchased three new colour cartridges so I'm not very happy with this. The cost of my colour  cartridges is more than what some laser printers are selling now.

My HPis a laser jet Pro 200 colour  MFP m276nw....can someone please help

@Scottneedshelp

Welcome to HP Support Forums. 🙂

Thanks for reaching out to us on HP Support Forums. I came across your post and would like to help.

I understand that you receive a false paper jam error on your HP LaserJet Pro 200 color MFP M276nw printer. I appreciate the steps you have performed and have certainly done a good job.

I recommend you to perform the following steps to isolate the issue and arrive at a fix:

NOTE: Please skip any steps that you have already tried.

  • Disconnect the power cable from the printer while the printer is still ON.
  • Disconnect any other cables if connected the printer.
  • Press and hold the printer’s power button for 15 seconds.
  • The printer should be directly connected to the wall outlet and not to a surge protector.
  • Reconnect the power cable to print and the printer should power ON by itself. If the printer doesn’t power ON then please manually power it ON.

If the error message continues to appear then I suggest you to reset the printer. I have sent you a private message with the steps to reset the printer.

I sincerely hope this fixes the issue. Let me know what happens. Good luck! 🙂

I'm having the same problem.  It leaves the last quarter inch of paper in the machine.

Please send me the private message to clear.

Thank you

your printer has small tabs that stick out into the paper path called "flags".  if one of these has got something impeding it from moving, or it has lost the small spring to pull it back into place it can become a real pain.  The open rear door and clear jam means it thinks something is  in the paper path.   also make sure the parts that move with the rear door of the printer are in their tracks and moving freely as they should.  if something is out of place it can do this as well.

you might actually just give it a good slam and that will cure the issue sometimes...

last thing or maybe first thing to do.....  pull the tray out and turn the printer over.  is there a piece of paper stuffed into the back of the tray area under your printer?  use your eyes and look into your printer where you can.

also, perhaps yank all the supplies and tray from your printer and look...  sometimes as your fuser goes out the paper will jam up accordion style into the fuser and it is hard to see.  look closely.   open everything and pull all out from the printer you can.  and look..   turn it over.  etc...  likely as not you will spot the issue.  if not, get a bit of compressed air and blast your printer out good and reinstall your supplies and try it again.  works quite often really...

oh, and alot of times when a printer is just not picking paper it will complain of a paper jam.  clean your pick up roller and seperation pad.   a small drop of dish soap on the fingertip and scratch the lint and dust that has gotten stuck on it with your fingernail.  wipe it with a wet cloth and let it dry.  if it feels a little "sticky or tacky" it will work again.

that is the usual things.  if not those it is a problem requiring a screwdriver and alot of patience...

Everything seems the right way of solving the problem. The flag sensors exactly works on the top of the fuser unit.If the problem does not clear the sensor might be dirty or the flag might not activate the sensor. This means that you will have to remove the top cover and make sure that the sensor is activated.Hope this will help.

I have the same problem. Can someone please send me the secret fix that HP will only send via PM?

Why will HP only send a Private Message on this? Why not post the steps to fix it?

I have the same problem.

I cannot get rid of "Jam in output bin. Open rear door and clear jam" error message.

Can you please provide more info about the flag sensor? What does it look like? Where is it located? How do you rremove the top cover? How do you make sure that the sensor is activated?
