Officejet Pro 8710
Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

Hello. I have trouble printing from a Officejet Pro 8710. The thing is, the printer is setup and installed correctly on Windows. While doing the installation process, on the step where ask to install the printer I did and the driver recognized the printer at the moment.

-I'm able to open the software that manage the printer (where you can see the toner level, perform the alignment process and those things directly on Windows) and it works, it actually send the order to the printer and the printer does it (is connected by USB to a single desktop computer with Windows 10).

-I can scan normally, doesn't have any trouble and I have the scanned documents on my computer.

-The ink level is good, I have realized different tests for the printhead and alignment and the quality is good, the ink original from HP too.

But the thing is, that I send a document, could be anything: Word, Excel, Outlook, pdf and even a print test directly from the printer properties from Control Panel, and is sent, I can see it for a moment on the printer queue but is never actually printed and on the printer I don't get any kind of error message, everything is good. I can scan and copy but sending from Windows never does anything. The printer appears as connected on Devices and Printers but I have that problem. I installed other printer by USB and doesn't have that problem.

-I did the process described on this topics and didn't work:

https://h30434.www3.hp.com/t5/Printer-Setup-Software-Drivers/Fatal-Error-Installation-took-too-long-...

https://h30434.www3.hp.com/t5/Mobile-Printing-Cloud-Printing/HP-8710-Not-Printing/td-p/6405499

So I have made a clean installation like three times but the problem is the same.

-I have changed the USB cable.

-I use the proper driver downloaded from here: https://support.hp.com/us-en/drivers/selfservice/hp-officejet-pro-8710-all-in-one-printer-series/790...

-I used an universal PCL6 driver instead

Neither have worked. Any assistance would be really appreciated, thank you in advance.

@JuanAguilar, Welcome to the HP Support Community!

I appreciate your efforts in trying to resolve this issue by performing the necessary troubleshooting steps.

Since you have tried reinstalling the printer driver, let us try these steps:

Try making a standalone copy and check if that works. By this, we can conclude if this is a hardware or a driver issue.

Run HP Print and Scan Doctor to diagnose and fix any driver issue

Click here to download the file. Once downloaded, make sure to run the file to start the installation and click on 'Fix printing'.

If the issue persists, proceed to the next step.

Use the HP Smart app to print and scan from your Win 10 PC

Click here to download and know more about the app.

Hope this helps! Keep me posted.

I'm sorry I didn't reply back but I just came back to say that I couldn't not make the printer work on Windows 10. The printer works normally on Windows 7 but in 10 even when Windows has communication with it (it can scan and do the cartridges tests) does not print documents or test pages. We are on an company environment so it could be Windows, policies or something else.

Still thank you for the assistance.
