Microsoft Windows 10 (32-bit)

Had a paper jam a few days ago. Cleared the jam following the instructions. Now it is saying the ink cartridge is ostructed, Its not. I looked everywhere, reset the printer, took out the cartridges. it will pull  the cartridges all the way to the right and then wont pull it the way to the left. It stops in the middle and says it has a jam. Of course it was out of warranty in July.

Hey there! @anaknight, Welcome to HP forums.

I understand you have carriage jam issues with the printer.

Don't worry I'll try to help you out.

Did you make any changes to your printer?

Have you tried checking with a different brand paper?

Splendid analysis and remarkable patience shown. It is immensely appreciated.

By not wasting much of your time. Please try the steps recommended below and check if it helps.

Try updating the printer firmware and check if it helps.

Update the printer firmware using this link. Click Here

Reset the printer to try to clear a false paper jam error, and then try to print again.

  1. Turn the printer on, if it is not already on.

  2. Wait until the printer is idle and silent before you continue.

  3. With the printer turned on, disconnect the power cord from the rear of the printer.

  4. Unplug the power cord from the wall outlet.

  5. Wait at least 60 seconds.

  6. Plug the power cord back into the wall outlet.

       NOTE:

HP recommends connecting the printer power cord directly to the wall outlet.

  7. Reconnect the power cord to the rear of the printer.

  8. Turn on the printer, if it does not automatically turn on.

  9. Wait until the printer is idle and silent before you proceed.

Try to print.

Clear jammed paper from the ink cartridge access area
