Hello.
I purchased this printer in America while we lived there. We have since been stationed in the UK with the US Military.
I needed a new printer cartridge to print off mailing labels, and was instructed to purchase a HP 302 cartridge, as the HP 63 ones that came with the printer are unavailable here in the UK and or/ridiculously expensive, and the 302 cartridges are the same exact product, simply made for the UK model.
However, when installed, the printer refuses to use it because it’s not a 63.
I have examined the cartridges and they are. The. Exact. Same. Apparently the only difference is the chip. Is there any possible way to use the cartridge I’ve purchased, or must I import one way too expensive/get a new printer? This is exhausting.

@ClintTheoLeo, Welcome to the HP Support Community!
Find below the compatible HP Ink cartridges for HP OfficeJet 4650 All-in-One Printer
HP customizes some printers and ink cartridges to meet local customer needs. If you take your printer from one country/region to another country/region, you might not find ink cartridges with the same number on the label as your original ink cartridges.
If you install an ink cartridge with a different number on the label printer will not accept the cartridge.
We need to perform a regional reset on the printer that may resolve this issue. I have sent you a private message as what has to be done next. Please check the same and reply.
